We help manage problems in the workplace, including redundancies and restructuring, takeovers, recruitment and dismissals.  The day to day issues that affect every organisation are disciplinary issues, grievances, bullying and harassment situations, and discrimination complaints.  These are all fields in which we have particular expertise.  When those problems head towards an Employment Tribunal, we deal with all aspects of the representation as far as doing the advocacy at the hearing.

When we’re not helping to solve problems, we are happy to provide support and guidance with recruitment processes, contracts of employment and Staff Handbooks. 

Our work also covers family-friendly policies (their drafting and their challenges), equal pay (in which we have been closely involved for some time on behalf of a local authority client), and compromise agreements.

An added string to our bow is the carrying out of internal investigations.   This typically arises in the context of a bullying and
harassment complaint, or a complaint about discrimination.  We provide an impartial service which gets to the heart of the issue quickly and discreetly.  We unravel the issues, deal sensitively with witnesses, collate the evidence into a formal report, and make recommendations to enable the client to take the next steps.  In doing so, we aim to apply a high level of forensic skill to the process and to take the internal stresses of the situation off the client’s shoulders.
 
Some employers find that problems can be avoided or at least minimised by training the managers and supervisors who deal with the day to day staffing issues.  We can tailor this to fit the case.
